Paragliding Kilimanjaro – Marangu Route (5–7 Days)

Make A Reservation

Launch from the Roof of Africa: Paragliding Kilimanjaro – Marangu Route (5–7 Days)

Climb. Soar. Conquer.

If summiting Africa’s highest peak isn’t extreme enough for you, how about running off the edge and flying off it?
This is not just a climb—it’s a full-throttle, bucket-list-level expedition that ends with you paragliding off Uhuru Peak (19,341 ft) into the sky like a superhero.
Yep. You hike up one of the world’s most iconic mountains… and then fly back down.

The Mission: Summit & Soar

We’ll ascend via the Marangu Route, known as the “Coca-Cola Route”—but don’t let the nickname fool you. This is still high-altitude trekking across five distinct climate zones, from lush rainforest to glacial ridgelines.

  • 5 to 7 days on the trail
  • Professional guides, porters, and pilots
  • Summit Africa's highest point
  • Then launch your glider from the top of the continent

The Climb: Marangu Route (a.k.a. "The Classic")

  • Day 1–3: Hike through the Montane Forest and into the moorlands. Cozy up in hut accommodations each night (yes, actual huts—not tents).

  • Day 4–5: Reach Kibo Hut, your launchpad for summit day.

  • Summit Day: Depart before dawn, climb in silence under a sea of stars, and crest the crater rim at sunrise. After photos, high-fives, and jaw-dropping views at Uhuru Peak—it’s go time.

The Flight: Paragliding Off Uhuru Peak

Strap in. Breathe. And run off the side of the highest free-standing mountain on Earth.

  • Takeoff elevation: 19,341 ft (Uhuru Peak)

  • Flight duration: 30–90 minutes (weather-dependent)

  • Landing zone: Either at Horombo Huts or lower depending on winds

  • Pilots: Certified expert paragliding pros with years of high-altitude flying experience

This isn’t just a ride—it’s a rare, high-altitude launch into African skies. Fewer people have paraglided off Kilimanjaro than have stood on the summit. It’s next-level bragging rights.

Why This Is Absolutely Insane (in a good way)

  • Climbing Kilimanjaro is a bucket list item.

  • Paragliding off it? Next dimension.

  • No rope, no rappel, just gravity, wind, and a canvas wing.

  • No one back home will believe this story—until they see the video.

Who’s This For?

  • Adrenaline junkies

  • Adventure travelers with guts and grit

  • Bucket-list checkers who want more than just the summit shot

  • Anyone who thinks walking back down is boring

Important Info

  • Weather dictates everything. We plan, we prep—but Mother Nature calls the shots.

  • If conditions aren’t safe to fly from the summit, you may paraglide from a lower altitude (still epic).

  • You must be fit enough to summit, and willing to hike with paragliding gear or have it carried.

What’s Included:

  • Expert Kilimanjaro guides and mountain crew

  • Certified paragliding pilots and equipment

  • Park fees, hut accommodations, meals

  • Pre-climb gear check and orientation

  • Flight documentation

This Is Not Just a Trip. It’s a Feat.

Climb to the top of Africa… and fly off it.
Because walking back down is for mortals.
